The Colorado State Archives is facing significant challenges due to shortages in staff, funding, and the lack of a comprehensive direction.  As an office of the Colorado State Government, the Archives depends on direction and funding from the Colorado Legislature.  A concerted effort could help engage the legislature’s awareness of the importance of the State Archives’ mission.\nThe Colorado Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (CAPG) holds quarterly general meetings, which normally include a special presentation (speaker, tour, etc.).
